Hello im here to ask a question about my 9800GTX+ as you read the title i want to use the EVGA Step-up program to get the GTX470. im not going for the gtx480 cuz it would be an overkill for me (gtx470 is cool enough :thumb: ) so my EVGA 9800GTX+ cost like 160$ and the EVGA GTX470 cost 349.99 which means im going to have to pay 189.99$ for the card i think it is a good deal for a high-end card and i also want all the cool free programs that come with the card :)

My system specs
Mobo: MSI K9N2 SLI Platinum Motherboard
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+ @ 3.1GHz (WILL BE UPGRADING TO THE CHEAPEST AMD 6-CORE CPU)
CPU Cooler: Coolermaster V8 (ready for the future  )
RAM: 5GB Total (2gbx2gbx512mbx512mb) non gaming ram OC to 800MHz
VideoCard: EVGA 9800GTX+ Bought March 28th 2010
Case: CoolerMaster CM690 NVIDIA Edition Case (partially another reason for the GTX470)

PSU: Corsair TX750W

Yes the gtx470 will fit in the case and i DO NOT mind the heat as long as its not as loud while IDLE and i dont mind REALLY LOUD by that i mean fan at 100% while playing like crysis.

My case airflow will be great i have a sidefan facing directly to the GPU's Fan so cold air in hot air out i have a front 120mm fan side 120mm fan an Exhaust 120mm fan and the top 120mm fan (closest to the usb n stuff)
Thanks for reading

Will it run great with my future/present system if i get it?

ALSO WHY DOES EVGA.com/stepup show 9800GT????????? Will it show the GTX470/480? if it doesnt :doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh:

Thanks again

For my pc (un updated YouTube - Zillerz3's Channel)

I would upgrade as that is a huge performance boost for not much money. Plus you get DX11 and all that greatness. You may not be able to step up for awhile depending on the availability so I would try and get in line as soon as possible.

i would definitely do it.
basically you are selling your 9800 for 160 and buying a 470. No way you would be able to sell it for 160 on any BST forum.
worst case sell your 470 and buy another 9800 for $100 instead lol.

Might as well jump on it. Should serve you well for your next upgrade.
