All I want is better graphics, keep the in game rank system of General, Officers, grunts (maybe add more), keep it 64 players, keep the massive levels, keep the massive air fights. If they keep everything from BF2 just prettier and destruction with a few improvements then this game will be awesome.

I can't wait for this game. I'm a BF2 veteran in any sense of the word. I've logged in over 1500 hrs just in the online ranked multiplayer. I've also played countless hours on the amazing mods like AIX 2.0 and Project reality. I've been part of the community since 05. Played in over a dozen clan, administrated them, played in the ladders ( TWL/CAL). I hope BF3 keeps the same format that's been working for so many years. I hope it's a lot more Vehicles/planes heavy this time around and not so much focused on ground pounding and such because it's been done way too much as of late.

Please for the love of god put a rewind button on the battlerecorders!!
I'd like to see bigger maps as well which would make for more epic dogfights. More different types of jets too. That's the thing that I've always deplored in that game.. you'd have 64 players in one map but only 4 jets.

Really excited for the frosbite 2.0 engine. BC2 is pretty spectacular as it is I can't imagine how good BF3 is going to be. Granted you won't be able to run it on an FX5200... but that's def a good thing. Getting away from the Xp/DX9 era.

All in all .. here's hoping Dice is going to make another amazing game that will last just as long!

You just pretty much described why I love BF1942 so much. The vehicle combat is huge compared to the rest of the BF franchise especially with some of the mods. My favourite map was coral sea because there were no other vehicles besides planes and you couldn't get to the enemy without a plane. So massive 20+ man dog fights.

didnt they say that BF3 for pc will not be consolized and wont be ported over. the PC version will specifically be for PC and not be lacking in any area because of console porting? thought i read that somewhere

Yeah I've heard the same thing... I still won't believe it until I see it though

I pretty much feel like the rest of you, I want a BF2 on a new engine and preserve all the awesomeness of a full battlefield, not this half game shit like BC2. I love BC2, but nothing compares to BF2. Also I sadly never got into 1942 at the time, but when I did play it I loved it. They need city maps without air stuff, maps with all air stuff, mixes of everything. Put the best of 1942 and BF2 together and it'll be awesome :) I hope they don't screw this up.

Ya they need some more urban combat. Some of my favourite times are battles in a city as it is a constant ambush and you have to be constantly on the alert. Then add destructible environments and it will be golden.

Karkand and Sharqi were awesome, definitely 2 of my favourites. But Dragon Valley was awesome for air battles and Wake Island was a good all around map.

Wasn't there a battle of britain map on bf 1942?

Being a Old timer and Playing CS 1.4 to CSS 1.6, I cant stand TDM Or any game that respawns every 10 secs or so. Where is the challange in staying alive?

Blackops fails in alot of ways but atleast when i kill someone in somegame modes they stay dead, untill the next round.

in a rush match, every time you respawn as an attacker, you use up one of your reinforcement tickets. I don't know how it works in conquest game mode, but i prefer to play rush game mode.

i still like cs but sometimes you can sit for a good 4 or 5 minutes before you get the chance to respawn. That's why i liked day of defeat over CS so much because the action is constant. The short lag between death and respawn was enough of an opportunity to capture a flag and move up (unless there was a straggler that wipes out your whole team lol). BFBC2 is similar and if no one on your squad is alive, you have to start from the respawn point and make your way back to the front line. It's plenty of time for a defender to dig in or an attacker to advance.

i agree with you about COD, it's kinda boring to play straight DM. i like objective-based teamwork better

Yup Battle of Britain was pretty epic because the Germans have multiple heavy bombers with 2 gunners while being escorted by fighters. The Brits had fighters and lots of AA guns. There were no territories to take over but all aerial combat.

As far as urban ya BF2 and 1942 had some pretty amazing urban combat. BFBC2 only has oasis which isn't bad.

I love CS:S and play it almost every day for at least a couple hours. That game I have put more hours into than anything else. Although BF 1942 I put a lot of hours into as well.

Although I tend to agree with you that there should be greater penalties when dying but BF has a MUCH bigger battlefield and it would suck if you were the first one to die and everyone is camping. That is a huge problem with CS is that it is a lot of the times you are just camping. BF you can't camp because your team will loose tickets.
