Epic Games sues Apple over 'monopolistic practices'

Big news in the mobile gaming scene. Epic tried to bypass Apple and Google's 30% cut. Apple responded by removing fortnite from the App store. Epic is countersuing.

Hopefully this ends up in a win for Epic, and by default other developers. The 30% cut is a bit excessive given Apple's market value and their repeated 'special' deals with certain parties or their undercutting competitors to push people to Apple's own brand.

Hopefully Epic has enough money and clout now to get this done. I think iOS definitely needs alternative ways of buying/installing apps. Ideally Android and iOS should allow "app stores" to be installed, much like we do on PC today.

No kidding. Apple, Facebook, and Google are all trying to own the entirety of the internet and all of its advertising. Facebook is guilty of making video posts, for example, show 5-9 thousand times actual hits and eventually bringing down huge sites like College Humor. They were 20 years strong.

If you are affiliated, or try to run a business through them, they are slowly sucking up your profits running you into the ground. If you bad talk them or try and profit outside of them they sideline you and deny you advertising dollars. It's a nightmare. Major news outlets are losing their shirts to these clowns with no monetary means of fighting back.

Epics parody video is great as well. I really do hope this leads to change especially on IOS. At least on android you have some choice. In the USA the amazon store is quite popular as you could get huge discounts on in app purchases using coins that way.
