Right now, Cherry MX Red (Cause im a gamer), but i also rly liked Outemu Blue, clicky switches are cool. So, what are yours?
I also like mx browns. I think its a good balance between cherry mx reds and blacks. My Mom likes reds bc she doesnt like loud keyboards but she membrane keyboards just aren't very durable or good.Reds never felt different enough for me compared to membrane keyboards. I settled on Cherry MX Browns as my favourite. That's for gaming and for typing.
Is the cheap Cherry MX Red kb you bought by any chance the G.SKILL KM360?I like linear switches, don't care for the click or the noise. Been using Cherry MX Red based keyboards for a long time even bought a cheap one for using in the office ($50 range) and I like them for typing two. However I got tired of the poor reliability of both k95 corsair keyboards. The first one had about 12 dead LEDs before they would warranty it and the second hit a point where every single LED failed (assuming the controller failed) so I was looking at anything linear that wasn't in a corsair frame. I eneded up with a ROG Strix Scope RX and i'm liking the optical reds. Keys are less wobbly than the MX style switches but the keys caps are not cross compatible instead they are 4 pins around a box (not sure what these ones are actually called).
Yeah, thats why i dont like blacks. I prefer to softly tap my kb, not jack hammer it.I agree with you about red if you always bottom them out but I have gotten better at not usually bottoming them out while typing and that is where I think the biggest difference is. Smooth rapid feel and quick response without having to hammer them.
I want to say Gigabyte XK700 but honestly I don't recall the exact model. Was a MemEx daily deal and at $50 I couldn't pass it up. Office flooded due to crappy neighbour not paying their heating bill and flooded our unit when their pipes burst, still in the middle of repairs so I have not even been in the office for quite a long time now.Is the cheap Cherry MX Red kb you bought by any chance the G.SKILL KM360?
