What CPU to buy for X570

I am currently running an X570 TUF Pro MB and brought over my old 3600 CPU due to budgeting. I'm now looking to upgrade my CPU while AM4 CPU's are on sale and still available. I'm trying to determine the best value for my money amongst the following: 5800x ($320), 5800x3d($430), 5900x($480).
I know there's a lot of love for the 5800x3d due to the additional L3 cache, but it's also the hardest to find and most expensive p/core. I love the idea of either saving $100 and going with the 5800x, or spending just a bit more than the x3d and getting the 5900x for the extra cores. With most reviews focusing on gaming performance, I'd like to know what people think from a productivity standpoint? I currently DO use this PC for gaming, but I honestly have no issue currently gaming with the 3600/1080ti that I currently have @ my resolution. (3440x1440@100Hz) I'm more concerned about other tasks I'm looking in to such as virtualizing several test environments, as well as running a virtual Jellyfin server.
So I guess the question is whether the extra $100/150 is worth the extra cache or cores beyond a 5800x, and if so, which should I prioritize?

if your applications can take advantage of the extra cache the 5800x3D is the clear winner buy the 5900x is great at both i currently use the 5950x for gaming/video/photo/coding but i also spent massive on the ram, ssds, gpu, for these tasks, you should be good with the 5900x as the 5800x is one of the hottest running cpus being a single ccd, 5900x has duel ccds and iv found from testing i could do it fairs better temp wise.

IMO:

5800X3D if it’s a gaming rig and you have the money

5900X if it’s a general use build that gets gets use in core heavy tasks

5700X as a solid upgrade at a low cost. They have been sub $250 a couple times lately.

I think we've got a member's club don't we?? ;)
I think it directly overlaps with the AW34 club, too

But seriously, I'll second the points above; The conversation should really be the following -
1) 5700x
2) 5800x3d
3) 5900x

And the breakdown is
1) Price/performance
2) Gaming
3) Multitasking

Pick your poison.

I hadn't really considered a 5700x, but that may not be a bad option given it's price. I'll see what Black Friday sales look like for that CPU. If I can get it for $250, that would be solid.

$250 for 5700X or 5800X is probably your best bet. I would love to get my hands on a 5800X3D but at $450 used, it's still out of my budget. One of the mods sold his 5800X for $250 and I missed that deal but lucky someone else has it and I sniped it from BST.
