  • You should ask the same question publically in a forum post, under Hardware -> Storage or Software -> OS. You'll get a bunch of possible answers.

    When I got a bigger hard drive for my laptop it took me 3 tries to get it bootable :p
    For drive images I use Linux's ntfsclone (assuming NTFS) or Norton Ghost 14.

    If your drive D: isn't a system partition (e.g. containing programs that cannot be moved around, pagefile, OS, etc), you're probably better off directly copying ONLY your C:\ partition using an image tool, and then copying the files from your old D:\ to the new D:\ using "robocopy".
