It turns out I did ;) Had the chipset installer package in my downloads after all - installed it just now to confirm -> instant power surges in prime95/IBT (with my stable 1.275V settings) - uninstalled it and no surges to be seen :) Thanks for figuring it out! :thumb:- negis

Only installed the LAN driver from ASUS site since it wasn't working at all and flashed the BIOS to 0702. Running Win 8.1 x64. Just noticed there's a 0902 BIOS available. Might give it a go in a few hours and also see if I can reproduce the USB power surge problem.- negis

Hey, I think I got rid of the problem by capping the cpu vcore first to 1.25 and then i upped it to 1.275 @ 44 multiplier to get stable and haven't got it since (only a few hours of stress testing + a day of gaming, but the problem showed up usually within 20 seconds under load). I have a hunch...- negis

Hey, Any update on "However, we did have the occasional "Power Surge On Hub Port" error present itself while running Prime 95, but we suspect that it might be due to a misbehaving USB device on our end or just a bad manually-set BIOS setting. We will update this if needed."? Picked up the...- negis
