Hi Guys, quick update. Spent almost the whole of this evening literally and figuratively 'screwing' around. Messed up one of the mobo screws, but finally got it off. So transplanted everything, mobo and hdd, in the Phanteks case and hooked up the new power supply. No extra cables or anything...- Rogier

Update: I Just went to get the machine. Everything in perfect working order. Great suggestion from you Huys to look for a used business pc! The power supply will have to go though, only 300w. I've checken and the mobo takes a normal 24 PINS connector, so I'm guessing I should be fine. On to...- Rogier

I'm replacing the case anyway, so if I can't use the PSU I'll buy a new one. Not that much of an expense. Just wish I hadn't been stupid 2 years ago when I threw out my perfectly fine old PSU during an upgrade :whistle:- Rogier

Guys, quick update. Found a second hand machine: HP pro 3500 Foxconn 2ABF mobo i5-3470k 8GB DDR3 With WIN10 Pro activated For EUR 145 I think I'll Just buy that as the base. Swap the case and dump in a new SSD and my old HD7870 Seems like that way I might be off cheaper for very reasonable...- Rogier

oohh true. Forgot about Windows let's factor in € 145, ugh.. expensive stuff. But I'll give him that and not take it out of the budget. Or am I being too nice? Concerning the power supply; I think the card will use around 175w max. In my old setup I had this running under a 500w power supply...- Rogier
