Well, finally got the cooler and a amd 965 but the plastic on the fan was actually touching the memory pushing it to the right, it might have been fine but just took out 4gb of the memory for now. The only way the hsf could be mounted was up or down so faced it that way to have air blowing out...

Judging from this picture it seems the RAM would indeed fit below the fan/heatsink since the memory isn't that tall. Thanks everyone and especially yamawho for posting what is nearly identical to my setup, will be ordering heatsink and processor soon! :biggrin:
Sounds great. I do have one more question though. Doing google searches and such you see people talking about backplates and some on youtube comments said AMD AM3 didn't need use of a backplate, not familiar with any of this so what does that mean?

There is a fairly high rate of success for unlocking this into a quad core. Everything runs fine at stock settings so I'm not worried, but some of you guys may be wanting to get more out your hardware.

Yeah dust is a pretty big problem they should have not gave us a side vent/put a filter on it too, however covering it up hasn't effected my airflow too bad and I even have a vid card. I run:
