Im getting in a pci-e ssd but wanted to know a few things.
Can I put the gpu in 3rd slot on a Rive 4 Black Edition board and put the pci-e ssd in top without losing performance? By that I mean is the top pci-e wired to cpu lanes as well as 3rd?

Iv had sli with my 680's and both ran 16x. Just wanted to see if these 2 pci-e slots were wired to cpu or top cpu while 3rd was tied to pch chipset.

Only reason considering moving the gpu from top is my gpu at moment is Acx 2.0 cooler wasn't sure it it'd be good idea to have that gpu dumping air onto ssd. I could put 2 120 Noctua fans on it if you think that'd negate any hot air from gpu it's not heavily oced but I got fan at 85%

Yeah was just wondering iv never put a gpu in any slot other then top.

It'll still boot if I put it in third though I'll have to do some tests soon as it arrives. I don't plan on going sli this Gen I'll wait till pascal titan to try again.
