MSI Radeon 6950 Options - Which to Get?

Hey guys, Thanks kindly for all the help! I ended up going with the MSI 6950 2GB. Fortunately, it appears I was lucky and was able to unlock the shaders on the card, so I wonder if some of the newer cards in circulation have not had the shaders lasered? Sorry for not having any pre-unlock...

MSI Radeon 6950 Options - Which to Get?

Hey guys, Just looking for some quick advice - at the same price point, would you prefer the Twin Frozr II 2GB version, or the Twin Frozr III 1GB version? As I understand, the Twin Frozr III should be unlockable even at 1GB due to the dual bios switch, but I'm wondering if the extra shaders...

    i7 fun....not really

Are we talking QPI or BCLK here? 188 may be the BCLK 'breaking point' at which you begin to require large voltage increases to boot. Increasing BCLK, you will need to increase virtually all of your voltages as it will bump up the speed of all components (RAM, Mobo, QPI, etc.)

Stabilizing i7 uncore - help appreciated

Stock settings Prime stable @ stock settings (optimized defaults) running blend for 10 hours. I think I really need to go back to square one for overclocking. There must be some setting / voltage I must be missing, because yesterday out of boredom I dropped the memory multiplier to 6x (runs...

Hey guys, Thanks kindly for the replies! @zoob - Skew is available to be adjusted, but I do not know how to appropriately adjust and test this parameter. Any advice on this from your experience would be appreciated! @chris - I have always kept the VDimm within 0.45V of VTT Re: LLC on vs...

Stabilizing i7 uncore - help appreciated

Hey guys, thanks for the replies! @arinoth and @chris - I was under the impression that Vcore was more dependent on BCLK than the CPU multiplier? Regardless, I will try the suggested multipliers and report back. @somecanadianguy Re: loading optimized defaults - I usually only restore, reboot...

Stabilizing i7 uncore - help appreciated

Been trying to mess around with this for 40+ hours...hoping that someone with more experience and a bigger brain than me will be able to figure this out. I haven't been able to run my memory at spec speed (1600 MHz; 8-8-8-24 @ 1.65V) at all. At first, I thought it was due to bad memory, but...
