Sim racing, VOTA, Simsonn, steering wheels

Not really sure what point or discussion you were trying to make... was it a budget issue? Did you look into Fanatec?

    Crappy Used Computer Parts Ads

Wow. 50 bucks of MDF, 100 dollar screen, a couple of controllers and a likely mediocre PC... 2 THOUSAND. Lol... I hope no one is dumb enough to buy this. If you're remotely tempted I'll build you the same for like 400-500 haha

    Asus RMA experience

Gonna be blunt, I haven't wanted an ASUS mobo since I had TWO Crosshair boards in a row have issues. One burned it's SB and the other had NB and VRM temp issues due to using the wrong screws to hold down the heatsink.

Its finally time... new KB time.

I think the optical ones would be the closest, but I don't know really. Like, zero knowledge here haha

Its finally time... new KB time.

What I have now (my DeCK 82) is, I think, completely linear with what I'd call a "medium" force. But for pain and sanity (and someday, streaming) reasons, I'll define my preferences as: Linear, very light, and, if possible, short travel distance. Every second I'm putting force on my fingers can...

Its finally time... new KB time.

Should I maybe order one of those Kits from Amazon that has several different switch types to help me pick one? I don't think I've seen one with electro- optical switches though. Oh, since I forgot to mention it: the KB has to be TKL (ten key less) at a minimum, but I don't want to lose my F...

RAID array showing unconfigured good drive

MegaRAID mega -user here. This should answer all your questions: Link Edit: It's important to configure your hardware Raid for a certain goal. Ex: for performance you might want to set "Read Ahead", but for reliability and survival "No Read ahead". I'm using my hardware raid card for a single...

@Jokester Yours isn't that bad tbh. What is "gamer bro" though? Like, whats wrong with a solid keyboard that "just" is all -black with RGB?

Its finally time... new KB time.

I'll look into it, but I see on their site they say what everyone says: "ours is the best keyboard in the world". Time to read reviews. Gotta be blunt, I never like keyboards with that "style". Why do you want your KB to look like it came from a steel mill in the 70s? 🤷‍♂️😅

Enclosure ran hot and got it to run super cool.

I'd recommend this instead: UGREEN 40Gbps M.2 NVMe Enclosure https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0CLV3D3H6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Faster, reliable company and actively cooled (and pretty darn quiet too)

Its finally time... new KB time.

I've been using a DeCK 82 for over ten years. It's a 75% -sized mechanical that predates a lot of standards, which is one of the reasons why it doesn't feel any better even with TWO thick rubber O rings as spacers on each key. So, I'm finally in the market for a new one. Doesn't *have* to be a...

    Steam Deck/Handhelds

I don't mind the 720p, but I do mind smoothness. I've heard that most games have around 30-40 fps? It's gotta do at least 60+ fps in all games (within reason) before ill consider getting one

    Steam Deck/Handhelds

Think I'm still waiting for a bit better from AMD for one of these. Need an APU that squarely beats things like 2060s, otherwise you might as well buy a much cheaper, older laptop and have better performance. Maybe once the 8700G gets a mobile variant?

    TV -experience tablet?

So I got the Lenovo P11 Pro G2 and... Wow. REAL OLED displays are just sooo worth it. The colors and darks and all of it is so crisp and vibrant, it so easily surpasses pseudo - Oled technologies like AMOLED. This tablet is gorgeous. Light, thin, display, sound quality, smoothness and more. All...

    TV -experience tablet?

I thought the FE was sorta the gimped version? Considering a Lenovo P11 pro G2. 11 inch, OLED, Dolby atmos 4 speakers, Octa core. Etc. About $400 on lenovo canada right now. Would still prefer something "wider", more 16:9 than 16:10 or 3:2. Doesn't really seem to be the norm anymore though...

    TV -experience tablet?

I'm necro-ing my own thread, so it's allowed... says me. My shield K1 is rapidly dying. Whining choke noise when recharging, occasional lockups and crashes. Sooooo we're back to hunting for a new 16:9 tablet. I won't ask for the "perfect" tablet anymore, just something decent that isn't 12...

do you know the story behind how Bluetooth got that for its name?

True story: I think it was around the time of very early wireless (802.11a?) that I tried creating a Bluetooth PAN (personal area network) between two devices then bridged the Bluetooth and wired internet connections to try to get it working. TBH I can't remember if I actually got it working...

Legion 5 RTX 2060 core clock stuck at 300Mhz

Only things left I can think of: 1- A thermal sensor is bugged and always assuming the 2060 is overheating, so its throttling the crap out of it. Check HWinfo64 2- If you're desperate and not afraid of bricking... you could try to reflash the 2060s bios. I've never personally done this on a...

Want to Buy MTL -area used server racks/hardware

I thought "evergreened" was the term for retired hardware. Normally still fully functional, just got replaced by newer things. Maybe it's a different term... Prime cables canada is an option.. but it's an expensive one. 48 dollars for a 2U shelf is pretty damn steep. That's kinda why I'm...

Want to Buy MTL -area used server racks/hardware

Hi hi once again HWC! Just a quick WTB for anyone in the Montreal area or that can ship to Montreal for cheap: I'm looking to find a source for used server + rack hardware. Specifically, I'm looking for: 1) Half-depth* server / networking cabinet. Minimum 6U, would prefer between 10U and...
