I think, for the power supplies, it's because I've yet to see a mining rig that isn't using an 850W or above. My unit, for example, is running a 1000W. Might go with a 1200W for my next build
I don't think GPU prices will come down in the near future; not as long as GPU mining remains profitable. And the GPU companies won't do anything to stop it, as they're making bank too
People on the GO train really need to learn to shut the f*** up in the Quiet Zone on the commute to and from work. I've already had to tell people off, and becoming increasingly more hostile about it.
As far as major purchases go, my new PC as of last week.
In terms of literally the last thing I paid for, would be my coffee/muffin before I got on the train this morning.
Can confirm, as I just put my 212 on my new build. It's a standard 120mm fan that the clip is screwed on to. Unscrew the clips, remove them, replace fan, reattach clips to new fan, reattach fan to heatsink.
All right, fair enough. What's the best bang-for-your-buck i7 right now? Preferrably hexacore, if you know of one that's not too pricey. (looking on newegg, they still seem to be up there). In the mean time I'll be perusing i7's myself
I want to start from fresh--brand new. I don't trust used stuff--no warranties, no guarantee as to the environment it's been in, nor any other operating statistics.
Thought I'd get some feedback/alternative suggestions. Trying to max out the power for the price range. (If anything is missing, I'm just reusing stuff from a previous build--such as disk drives)
I am both a gamer and a game developer; also going to be using it for HD media recording.

Haswell Z97 is socket 1150 I think, right?
Their best cpu I can find is the 4770k @ 3.5GHz. In the reviews I found, it barely wins the single core performance benchmark, and (for obvious reasons) falls below the hexacore in multithreading.
I don't know if I want to wait for the Q3 release (it...
Now that I've got a decent job and the money's coming in, I'm finally looking to do a hardware refresh. Here's my current build, with a budget of $2500-$3000 all in:
CPU: Intel Core i7-4930K Hexacore, Socket LGA2011 (3.4GHz)
MOBO: Asus P9X79 LE Socket LGA2011, Intel X79 chipset (quad-channel...
I'm working on a game in Unity as part of my Graduation project, all the scripting and programming is done in C#. I'm over 5000 lines of code at the moment.
