    Crappy Used Computer Parts Ads

My issue with that ad, is the 1st line - "Brand New Build"...... sure, it may have JUST been thrown together, but how many of those parts, if any, are actually new, which makes that line sound like total B.S.(n)

    OB-1 Rebuild

While I agree with the sentiment, that seems like an unfortunate choice of words, considering the amount of glass in that build. ;)😆

Yeah, that's about 3x the price it ought to be.....

I see that sort of ad on FBM fairly often, i.e. what that seller PROBABLY means, is that it's "3 yrs. old", because that's when he got it, rather than that's the age of the components in said "custom build". That, and "custom build" probably means a buddy of his slapped it together, out of a mix...

    Blue Jays MLB

I've watched a bit, out of curiosity, what with all the hype, but TBH, I haven't watched an entire baseball game since the Expos left the country..... that whole debacle just turned me off of baseball, and once you have a favourite team, it's hard to cheer for a different one. ☹️(n)

Well, if it actually IS a scam, there wouldn't be any pins to break off, given that an AM5 CPU doesn't have pins sticking out the bottom, BUT the buyer would have some serious issues trying to get their CPU to make ANY contact in that socket! As it turns out, I DM'd that seller, to point...

Scam, or a simple mistake? In either case, it fits the title of this thread.....

    Crappy Used Computer Parts Ads

Spotted this one today, from a local used computer dealer that I've occasionally bought a few things from. Not sure what to think of this..... seems completely ridiculous, but then this guy has been dealing in used computers & parts for years, so I have to wonder if he has some insight on the...

Help finding something for new desk build

Nice setup! (y) And like I previously said, it appears, at least at this point, that you have the bulk of the weight closer to the back side of the desk, and therefore generally supported by the legs. Having said that, given how long that is, I can definitely see why the concern about potential...

Want to Sell Watercooling Hardtube lot and Corsair fans lot

@canada2005 Is that listed as ONLY shipped in Ontario because of the Canada Post strike, and the intention is to ship via UPS, FedEx, or one of the other couriers?

OMFG, either completely delusional, or a total scammer!!!

Oh how I hate dealing with FBM

Yeah, I guess there's ALWAYS gonna be those people around. Personally, if I see "FIRM" on something, I take the seller at their word, and don't bother making an offer, and if I don't think it's worth it, I just look elsewhere. (y) Understood, although I have made some sales to...

I believe you are correct..... fairly sure that's the setup my nephew used to have, and I don't think he paid THAT much for them.

Oh how I hate dealing with FBM

The trouble with that policy is, the seller is the ONLY person that knows where the line is between a decent offer, and "low baller". If not open to offers, you should clearly state that, or the more common phrase, "price is firm". I've seen LOTS of FBM listings that say, "no low ballers"...

    Pricecheck - 2 complete PC's

@Caldezar Yeah, those prices seem very reasonable..... just doing a quick & dirty guesstimate of what you could get for "the beast", IF you parted it out, I'd say you could probably get ~$400, so $250 for the whole thing should move it fairly quickly.

@Shadowarez I noticed something missing, unless it's further down the list, which isn't shown in that screenshot, i.e. although it's obvious there's an AIO in there, I don't see it listed.

Geez, talk about 'wishy-washy' - "obo pretty firm tho"....... even tho it's considerably overpriced, what are potential buyers supposed to assume from that text.... $2450 MIGHT get it?

Just spotted THIS winner! Either it's a typo, i.e. buddy mistakenly added a zero at the end, or the seller is completely delusional.

DAMN, asking $250(originally $300) for a RX 570..... ONLY about $200-ish overpriced.... that's some cojones!
