Thanks this is really good to know :) ... I looked at the desktop PC with the power supply I posted about..not seeing any optional preview updates but now I know they have the potential to mess with a PC's sleep mode so thanks for that :)

Hi guys me again with another dumb question, my apologies in advance and particularly if I've posted this in the wrong part of the forums (I wasn't sure where questions on usb 2.0 cables would go).

haven't worked up the courage yet to pry open the laptop and look at the battery :) (see my long Andre is terrified post in post 10 above :P ) .. but I know you're right, I really should do that even if I wreck the laptop in the process just to make absolutely sure there's nothing funny going...

Thanks again moocow :) .. but if you don't mind me picking your brain a bit further? .. I was worried about it being a leaky laptop battery .. I looked at this video

Thanks moocow and as always thanks for the quick reply :) .. darn I was afraid of that :( .. but 7 years old I guess I can't complain too much :) .. I wouldn't really know how to take apart the laptop and remove the screen so I guess it's time to retire the poor old thing.

Again thank you all so much :)
freeagent as far as clearing the CMOS.. do you mean I should install the two new sticks of corsair ram then clear the CMOS? And obviously I'm guessing I should clear the CMOS before upgrading the BIOS to the latest version :) .. or is clearing CMOS unnecessary...
That's great news JD thank you for that ! :) .. but .. and forgive my ignorance :) .. how does that work when the CPU and other stuff like ram and hard drives are already installed? I know that you can just plug the power supply into the motherboard before you attach anything else (CPU, ram...
