I've used this model generator for both my switch and the rogers' ONT. Seems to work well enough, but it's pretty tight when you use the manufacturer's listed size(s). https://makerworld.com/en/makerlab/parametricModelMaker?designId=1765102

I discovered I'd stripped one of the screws I needed to remove the top frame in order to drop my ent 8 PoE into the rack so I ended up having to remove a couple of the "extras" I'd put into the rear frame to replace it. Easy enough to do with the bit, and yeah..... I'm guessing might as well...

    Rants etc.....

Already there. :) Yes, I'm able to pull 2 separate IPs out of the ONT by connecting it to a switch first and then splitting it off to both the rogers' modem and my CGM. I've got wifi turned off on the rogers modem and connect my STBs through my Unifi APs. The rogers' modem is only online to...

I think most of the insert kits from aliexpress come with tips, but the 100 count I bought from amazon didn't (100 didn't end up being enough for fully populating front and back mounts after I added a 3U extenstion).

This was my first kick at doing a proper heated brass insert. I've done some random heat treatments to shape holes and/or panels, but never a heated insert. Having the correct tips for my soldering iron seemed to have gone a long way towards making it a painless operation...

    DDR5 pricing going up FAST

I believe all/most costcos have dedicated electronics area staff who are always hanging around that area so they'd presumably notice fairly quickly.

looking for some power supply recommendations

Aren't the Asus Strix models just rebranded Seasonics? Seems to me I checked when I had one in the house and the cables were compatible with similarly spec'd Seasonic units.

    Cybenetics 12V-2x6 With Auto Shutdown

You'd presumably still have the IGP but unless you're running a laptop wouldn't have a way of switching between dGPU and IGP.

    Rants etc.....

Just spent 1hr+ being bounced around different Rogers' support lines trying to get my current gen3 router upgraded to their new gen4 so that I can get the speeds I'm paying for out of an ethernet port (the gen3 only has a single multi-gig port that's taken up by the ONT). All that time only to...

Hrmmmm........ And now I'm watching the handles print for the rack I posted earlier and they've just done a 3/4" wide 5"+ long bridge without skipping a beat..... I'm used to seeing models designed with a slight curve to get away from needing to do long bridges but this is over 5" of straight...

https://makerworld.com/en/models/1175026-10in-mini-rack-ucg-max-1u-mount#profileId-1184031 Heavy duty bridging going on at the end of that model. 1/4" wide/high 1 1/4" long fully open bridge at both sides of the top and it looks like it printed pretty cleanly using PETG. Not sure if that's...

Heh.... why can't I just do a project without feature creep??? :) Initially all I wanted this for was for basic shelving. Now on top of the inserts/bolts I've also grabbed some keystones for the CGM-Max tray I'm printing off, and now intend to do up a proper keystone patch panel. Looks like...

    Hot Deals!!!!!

Glad to hear more than one of our members managed to get their hands on one of these at this price. Are you using any of the "managed" settings? If so, how are you running the controller software? I run a low RPM 140mm on top of my Ent 8 Poe just to keep temps down. Not sure if it's needed, but...

I'll keep that in mind if the model I'm trying doesn't turn out well.

Going to try my hand at this small network rack: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1294480-lab-rax-10-server-rack-5u#profileId-1325352 Grabbed a bunch of brass inserts, a set of insert tools, and some m6 button head bolts to try to do it right (instead of cludging it together with some hex-head...

    Whats your latest purchase?

I was involved with the program in moncton for getting Syrian Refugees settled back in the day.... we had a donation warehouse for things like furniture and household goods..... seemed like every person in new brunswick took that as a chance to move their ridiculously large CRT TVs out of the...

    Hot Deals!!!!!

Somebody on RFD suggested it was probably a pricing error at the distributor level which carried through to multiple retailers. Hopefully they honour the order(s). That said..... with the XG 8 PoE being listed at $715, I can't see these being worth much more than $300 - $350 on clearance...

Nice, and those are all 10G ports! That's essentially the MSRP I was seeing for the Enterprise 8 PoE when I bought mine.
