Samsung Galaxy Note Review Comment Thread

I'd say the Playbook fits that bill perfectly. Only problem is that it's a Playbook.

    Memory"Express".com?!?! More like Memory-slow-as-F&@#*!

It should be titled 'First World Problems,' too.

Is Your New HDTV Watching You?

Skype. My parents love having the ability to sit on a sofa while dialing up long-distance family and friends. Niche use, but it's there for some people.

    Rants etc.....

I haven't touched a thing on my Playbook, which is why I find it so odd, and slightly annoying. Even the IT guys who had a long look at it, couldn't get the WiFi to work in a consistent fashion. Maybe I have a bum unit but I'm tethered to a mobile network anyways.

Wait until you get to a corporate hotspot or school WiFi. That's when the real fun begins!

Is this your favoured Off-Topic forum?

This place generally has the best OT. It's primarily because the perspective is Canadian, so there's a more worldly viewpoint. But because people here are innately curious and intelligent, (which is reflected by their PC hardware hobby) it brings in a lot of thoughtfulness as well. Also, our...

    BC Teachers deserve your support

No. Pay better, and attract better candidates. Competition will increase, and you will see the good people get hired, while displacing the chaff. That is how every industry works Cutting or staying wages will send the good people to other sectors, and burn out those whose passion got them this far.

    BC Teachers deserve your support

Good wages attract and keep good teachers. Like any other profession. It's not just wages though. It's the demonization of educators on the whole. These ideas that they don't work hard, are lazy, slothful and terrible people that want, want, want. All completely unfounded as far as I am...

    BC Teachers deserve your support

Many teachers would be happy if class sizes were more manageable. But they're not. I'm always amazed how people complain about how: teachers are making too much money, taxes are too high, unions are the demon, the public service making too much money ... only to turn around and then wonder...

    new Lawful Access Law

Toews should be removed for equating people concerned with privacy to paedophiles. That's the kind of reactionary tripe that the CPC fought so hard to rid itself of. Or tried to, at least. And now he's bungled it up further by not even knowing the contents of the bill.

9/11: Explosive Evidence - Experts Speak Out

Do conspiracy theorists believe that a group of middle eastern radicals simply aren't intelligent or bright enough to actually organize and do something like this? Seriously. It's always the same group of people. One day, they complain about the inefficiencies, red-tape, and bureaucratic...

It’s an iPad World. We Just Live in it.

I'm curious how they've been doing that. It wasn't too long ago that Apple was the butt of everyone's joke. I don't think they've paid off anyone. They just made an excellent set of products that many people desire.

Microsoft calls for Same-Sex Marriage in Washington

Oh please. Two dudes holding hands really weirds you out that much? Have you seen heterosexual people make out in public displays of affection? It's pretty gross, but I've yet to meet a homosexual who believes that those people should keep it to themselves. If the majority of people were as...

Tim Thomas - Great guy, great goalie AND intelligent role model

If the president invites you to the White House, you really ought to go. Obama's the head of state and I think it's quite distasteful for Thomas politicize an invitation like he did. Tim Thomas hasn't shown respect or class here, and that certainly doesn't make him a role model in my eyes...

CES 2012: MSI Launches Interceptor Series Computer Cases

I think it's smart that they're appealing to the budget crowd first. Build a reputation for quality and features on hardware forums, and then create a high-end case later on.

    Kudos / Thanks thread

I had to find a pretty obscure grocery item yesterday. The clerk/stockboy spent over twenty minutes helping me try to find it, first by trying to special order it, and then by calling competing stores to see if they had it. He didn't have to do it - he could have just said 'we don't carry that'...

    Whats your latest purchase?

BenQ EW2420 monitor. It's an MVA panel but response time is fine for gaming and the colours look great after some calibration.

    POF.com? Safe? worth the effort?

My friend uses both POF and OKCupid to meet dudes for short-term/hookups. But she's fallen head-over-heels for one guy she met on OKCupid and that's pretty impressive given her 'unique' personality. That means something works.

    Watts needed for SLI?

If you can catch a Corsair 750TX for under $100, you'd be in good shape. I run the first version; it's a good unit and it ran two overclocked (very powerhungry) 470's in SLI with aplomb.

    The tools thread!

No sound is more beautiful than the solid, assured 'click' of a calibrated torque wrench.
