they are. for the few minutes they can do at max load. they give you the breathing space to safely shutdown the equipment being protected.
that you can run very low power devices for 'extended' runtimes is an bonus.

I haven't checked to see what the community outrage is like regarding the abysmal performance of these...but AMD told them so; there are good reasons why they didn't make this because it provides almost no advantage for those that want them, idiot gamers with more money than sense.
