Good cover indeed, but seems less dramatic in places. I enjoyed it though.....no Talk Box.... Okay, I went back to the original, which was one of my first album purchases along with KISS Alive, and it is definitely less dramatic. Still a good cover.

help with Windows 11 install reboot cycle

It could be the dreaded "tap F12 to get to the one time boot menu" which I recently ran into after cloning HD to SSD on a Dell for a friend. Both drives were fine and would boot when installed, but only after booting into this "one time" menu via F12 and selecting them. Worked normal after...

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays for 2024 HWC!

A friend used to say "I'm pretty strong, but smell isn't everything." Best to all.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays for 2024 HWC!

Just saying that there are many of us earthlings that do something similar around this time, and many that don't. We have to work to get along, because it's the only habitable planet within reasonable traveling distance. Best to all in 2025.

Should you defrag SSD and Hard Drives with a vary low level tool Spinrite

TRIM has nothing to do with this. We are talking about full or near full blocks of data that were written, and only read back since. They do lose integrity over time, and lots of good research shows this. It's worth a P/E cycle to refresh them occasionally. These particular Nand cells have...

Should you defrag SSD and Hard Drives with a vary low level tool Spinrite

In this case it's not defragging, which implies moving blocks around, but just refreshing the state of existing written blocks. Steve Gibson's video show's it quite well and Dave's video also explains it. The degradation of charge state in NAND cells over time will cause slowdown in read access...

Should you defrag SSD and Hard Drives with a vary low level tool Spinrite

This was very interesting. This shows the slowdowns when the ECC kicks in on SSD's. He recommends occasional, like once a year, freshen up. https://www.grc.com/intro.htm

    The Happy thread!

~20 years ago I thought studs were going away with the super siped ice tires, but I guess the wear issues brought them back. Studs still give less traction when not on ice, and they make a hell of a racket. They also chew up the road. Glad your enjoying the grip.

    Rants etc.....

^^^^Lot's of people living in cars, tents, campers, motorhomes, on the street. It's bad.:( @Shadowmeph time for full chemical warfare it seems. Edit: Motorhome would of course be the very high end of street living...lot's of them parked around various places nightly.

    Northern Lights

I was shocked at the visual display in my front driveway, with street lights and house lights and what not. I don't recall ever seeing the lights to the South of our latitude before. You could even see hints of colour naked eye. It was spectacular. The lower Fraser Valley is very light...

lets talk about small kitchen appliances

That was an LOL post..thanks @Izerous . Edit: To be clear..not the bad water problem..the ice for drinks from the bad water. It seemed straight out of a Canadian Comedy show. YMMV I've been privileged to live in places that have good water. Many Canadians are not, and that's not good. We...

That AI rendition just sounds weird to me. Raspy in all the wrong places, and no dynamics. Worse than the Limp B. cover. I agree that Emily does not have the power and transition from smooth to scream ability. She may be able to develop it. Let's hope so. Emily Armstrong is already "not...

Linkin Park is in regular rotation on a local radio station. Bennington was one of, if not thee, very best at the smooth to scream singing style. The young lady, Emily does a credible job and was actually quite good...( I watched and listened to the whole thing.).. She can't match the power and...

What a performance! I know it wouldn't work with the orchestra, but she could wack out some bass lines with a full stack.
