New Mid-High gaming RIG, need opinions!
The MoBo I'm getting says it has to be overclocked in order to accept RAM higher than 1600mhz and I have 1866mhz lined up for purchase. Is this going to cause me any issues? I know there is not much difference between the 2 speeds right now (noticeably) but I did have my heart set on this...- lightninstrikr

Ahh ok thanks, I've seen it as OMV or YOMV (Opinions May Vary or Your Opinion May Vary respectively). So as long as I am getting 16g anyway I might as well get it all together just in case so I'm not that rare gremlin case. Thanks! P.S. First build - Need advice and opinions
I'd personally go with a little more power on the PSU and try for a better certification (silver/gold preferable). PSU's run most efficient somewhere from 30%-50% load so IMO it's better to have a little more than you need than a bit less. Also depending on where you live in Canada I hear...- lightninstrikr

I think I'm going to shell out the extra money for the Seasonic 1000w Platinum Series... It's a good brand, more power than I'll need even if I SLI, and with a 7 year warranty it's a fairly safe buy. Might even pay for itself before the warranty dies out... Sadly it's a good chunk of change...- lightninstrikr

Well in the 1000w category silverstone and antec had similar pricing (one with a large sale like the mushkin) and seasonic's platinum is only $240. The mushkin has a $40 discount and the package deal with the 2600k gives another $40 off so it could be either IMO. Didn't really know people's...- lightninstrikr
