Oops didn't mean to link both versions of the TX850... that's what 12 hour work days do to you I guess lol.
@AkG Do you know of a good chart to compare that platinum certified PSU to the other levels in terms of savings on power bills (I couldn't find a terrific one or find a cents per 1000w...
As long as you aren't like me and tend to sit on menu screens for 10+ minutes at a time (several times a day at least) then you should be ok with a plasma if that is what you really want. If you do sit on menus a lot and you still want the plasma then just get used to turning it on and off when...
These are what I am currently looking at (in order of preferred). I'd like to have modular but it isn't a necessity.
Newegg.com - Antec CP-850 850W Continuous Power CPX SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC "compatible with Core i7" Power Supply
Newegg.com -...
^^^^^ This. All of it.
FYI I used "burn" as a generic term for the lasting impression made by a still image. Ex. say I hit pause to grab some food from the microwave real quick (3 mins tops) and I un-pause and feel like I just took a bong hit ;)
I mainly go LCD because I hate that with a plasma if the screen sits a little too long in one spot it burns in and retains the image. Even if it doesn't cause any permanent damage I still find it annoying to deal with. IMO the slightly improved picture quality isn't worth it unless it's purely...
Amen to that my friend... and thanks for all the help in this not-so-little endeavor, it is greatly appreciated. :D
Which would you pick, the 570 for ~$300 or one 560Ti now and another 2 weeks later (at next paycheck) for a total of ~$500? Or for the price of the 2 560Ti's would you just get a...
Right now I'm pretty locked in on no liquid cooling unit to start (I can always get one later if I'm running too hot) and getting the GTX 570, the 580 IMO is too high right now for the added benefit. Stickin with 16G RAM because I can :P
Thanks for the MoBo suggestions, I'll take a look at...
It's ok I didn't specify that I was from the US in this post like I did in the other so it's my bad :P
Yeah I was looking at both of those, definitely want to go with modular for a small increase in price but I'll be looking at a lot of sites over the next few weeks to hopefully catch a good...
A few questions...
What's your budget?
What resolution do you want to play on? Also what refresh rate is your monitor/tv?
Do you want to have the best graphics settings on everything or are you satisfied with mid-high?
When do you plan to buy everything by? (ex. "I want to have it ready for...
Thanks for the info :) I've checked out Jonnyguru and it sounds intelligent just a little too much for my tired brain atm lol...
Ehh you get biters wherever you go and since I work at a Vet Hospital I've had worse ;] Thanks for the welcome!
Because I know nothing about that site or it's members and I have been taught a plethora of things from Linus' Tech Tips videos?
What Linus said in his videos made sense and he held a lot of the same views towards tech that I do. I respect his opinion and figured he would be a good person to...
So is it not worth it? Is it basically the same as getting another of the same card since it defaults to the lesser? (not taking into account things like memory cache and what not)
So newb question here since I haven't heard anything to state otherwise... can you Crossfire/SLI two different cards? Say I have the 570 and don't wan't/need a second card until the 580 has dropped significantly in price?
Or is that a big "no no" thing to do? I assume it's not the greatest...
The issue of multi-posting has already been addressed and resolved...if I could delete my useless posts I would have when they became so.
Thanks for the input!
Ahh thanks JD I didn't know there was an attempt to limit it to his threads only. Sorry on the Edit snafu, I didn't think the second related to the first enough to edit (a lot of the time I edit and someone was already responding and that causes issues in communication) and I simply forgot when...
Alright thanks, while on the subject of the budget... do you think this set up needs the liquid cooler or would I be just fine (and safe) without one? FYI I normally turn my comp off when I go to work (8-12 hour shifts) and when I sleep.
