Absolutely love my G9x. RMA'd my G9 after about 2 1/2 years of use (the left click failed, along with the laser) and received the G9x without question.
Yeah, the NIC is, in my opinion, a complete waste of money. There are tons of reported issues with Killer cards, even causing a reduction in fps, and increased latency in some games. I'd save that money and spend it on something more beneficial.
Having a 980x at stock clock seems absurd to me. (unless I'm reading it wrong - you mention 2.4ghz which has me confused) The single biggest upgrade you could do there would be to simply overclock that beast.

Also, the human eye isn't limited to "frames", it sees fluid motion. Therefore, you will never exceed what the human eye is capable of processing with a generic monitor. (Though it is limited to 60/120Hz anyways)
