    yay snow!!!

Where is all the snow? I have Per's next set of winter tires nearly ready for him. :D Oh wait, here is the snow! Conveniently blocking the road and giving me the opportunity to follow the quad/SxS path around.

    Rants etc.....

I need to step in and be that guy for a moment. If you are trying to sell your house, it should be clean and presentable regardless of who it is sold through. Spending those four days cleaning up early is a good thing because it offers an opportunity to downsize/sort things before you are in a...

    Rants etc.....

Is that also when the Western HWC Crew get together to have a big unexpected/uninvited party at your house?

    Rants etc.....

I have this issue with American Muscle. I want to see what new products come out for my Mustang, but not see two emails each day pushing 20 products identical to the last thing I looked at. :angry2: Oh, and HWC: why no SSL? That sounds like a rant to me.

Why is everyone selling the Pascal GPUs?

Do I look like Per? :bleh: I have winter tires. It is just that they have a couple seasons on them and I only have one set of rims... and my summers(on the car when I got it) have a lower speed rating than the winter tires I bought......

Why is everyone selling the Pascal GPUs?

I am with sswilson on this one. I can wait or go with a 1070. In the real world I would be more likely to get new tires or a second set of rims for my Mustang.

Why is everyone selling the Pascal GPUs?

This may be an unpopular opinion but if I could get my hands on one or two dirt cheap 1080ti ex-mining cards I would probably replace my Radeon 7950 crossfire setup in the near future. I do not play many games anymore, but the ones I do occasionally play tend to not support crossfire and look...

    Rants etc.....

A vast majority of people grossly underestimate how much stuff they own and how much space it all takes up in a moving truck.

who here uses cast iron to cook?

When I had more time I used only cast iron. My fav was a 12" and at it's best camping or atop a wood stove as gas and electric ranges just do not have the coverage for it. :(

    Rants etc.....

If the PCB is only one or two layers you can often follow the trace back to the nearest pad/via and run a little wire to the destination pin and bypass the damaged portion. If the PCB is more layers it can get harder fast.

    Whats your latest purchase?

Manual switching power supply where you have to flick the switches on and off really fast! Also with a built-in headphone amp. :P

I'm moving - where to get good moving boxes?

I was fond of using rubbermaid tubs when I moved long distance in the uncovered box of a pickup truck. Not cheap upfront but you can keep them for next time or other things. Of course that really only works if you have just a load or two. Trying to move most people's households with a pickup and...

    yay snow!!!

@lowfat Glad I got a GP trip in yesterday. There were still trucks in the ditch and spun out on hills but it looks like it would have been worse today. :P As usual LADD1 freq was a mix of useful information and some entertainment for the twice-as-long drive.

    Whats your latest purchase?

Going to try out a 3t aluminum floor jack as my 2 1/2 ton steel one takes a lot of pumps to lift, releases jerkily, and is heavy. But my old one does have more ground clearance and larger wheels for uneven floors, so that is going for it... I guess.

Flight sim with a decent tutorial?

Highly suggest setting a hotkey for TrackIR re-centre and getting comfy then hitting it at the start of each session. That way you do not need to keep moving your chair to match what was originally set. Think of it as a trim setting, but for your view.

Flight sim with a decent tutorial?

sswilson: I am glad that you are enjoying the tutorials in DCS World. Also, TrackIR is nice, I know everyone these days likes VR headsets but sometimes you need to be able to see your controls. Do not be surprised if you have to spend some time tweaking the settings to find the sweet spot for...

Flight sim with a decent tutorial?

IL-2 1946 is your ticket then. I thought DCS World had an easy engine start option? Oh well. I used to use a TrackIR and use mouse to click less-common things during startup. Binding every single thing to the keyboard/HOTAS is hard to remember. Guns, trim, etc already take up enough of your...

Flight sim with a decent tutorial?

I could not, I did not go through most of them, or if I did then I do not remember. Out of A-10C, FW-190D9, KA-50, P-51D, UH-1H I only ever spent any time in KA-50 and P-51D. I was also never very good. :P I wish I would have bought a proper set of rudder pedals because then I would have spent...

Flight sim with a decent tutorial?

I remember that Fly!2k came with a decently sized printed manual. Falcon 4 had a full binder. Eagle Dynamics have these: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/178850/ The free aircraft in DCS World are the TF-51D(prop) and Su-25T(jet). If you click the training option on the main menu...
