most likely the phone socket is dirty with lint or other gunk, remove battery and blast socket with contact cleaner then air to dry it put back battery back in an try connection again- KaptCrunch

must be your motherboard for work on other systems as you stated. try red 1/8 for mic also check MB manual for mic connection or bios for some you can turn mic off and choose a suround output- KaptCrunch

hope you unplugged the solding iron after heated up then solder. for my cheap CTC iron was giving 27 VAC @ the tip to ground while plugged in or use the heat gun and Self-Solder Butt Splice Connectors- KaptCrunch

wife's puter dead?
they are here, only in industrial supply house not in retail stores. use the non-chlorinated cleaner for chlorinated is very Toxic to your health thats why not available retail for known carcinogens- KaptCrunch

want the thump i use Yamaha home reciever and fiber optic cable , you can adjust all levels with HTR and MS software.18" sub with 200 watt bridged amp driving it. Talk about bass if want to rattle dishes or is it live or Memorex moment- KaptCrunch
