Also, if it changes things I do have a 3070 I can throw in as part of a trade. Bought it as a stop gap card while waiting for stock to become available...
I'll take it if you're willing to ship to Kingston.
Man I was looking for a 3x 8pin card but ended up purchasing a tuf and a wb for it due to availability issues lol but I have a friend who will take that one off my hands :P
Thank you sir. I also had 3090s in my car a number of times and didn't pull the trigger but this one was actually selling for MSRP so..... snap decision and snapped it up. Thank god I did too because a second after it went OOS again lol.
SIDE NOTE: I'm in talks with someone that might be bulk...
I will report back, gave up on getting a 3080 for the wife and just pulled the trigger on a 3090 for myself and will be putting my 3080 in her rig. Looking forward to attempting a few games on tripple 32" 1440p 144hz (being realistic... please be at least 60fps) surround.
At the inability to get another 3080 for the wifey rig ... welp... I did a thing
So now waiting on a waterblock and then will switch the 3080 over to the wifey rig and attempt to justify my reasons for the above card. More updates incoming!
Depends on open vs closed. I can tell you for a fact that an open loop with an optimus block performs significantly better than the close loop systems (~8c better than a 360 closed loop system I had previously).
As a 10900kf owner I can confirm that intel chips are mini reactors... even under water with an optimus block which is supposed to be the highest performing cpu block, it can easily hit 95+ overclocked. I leave mine close to stock and it still hits 61-65 under full load.
Considering my coolant...
@Lysrin Phanteks D140. Would have gone with a 900D specific plate but those are .... rare and the only one I found looked awful had a ddc mount =/
Thinking of dubbing it the crouching corsair unicorn puke hidden gentle typhoon actual performance fans build lol.

Update: Fedex has Delivered
Block looks pretty nice (imo) but .... soft thermal pad residue was invented by the devil himself. Spent an hour cleaning stuck on thermal pad bits off the card. Also whatever thermal paste EVGA uses cured into a layer of cement and took multiple noctua thermal paste...
Update: Fedex, (as expected) did not deliver the gpu block. Hopefully it arrives tomorrow so that work on the build can continue this weekend. At this point projected delivery dates are like abusive relationships, they get your hopes up just to immediately crush your soul.
