A moderator on Overclock.net has run the Unigine benchmark at the settings used in nVidia's 'GTX480 vs 5870' slides on his 5850, and the results are surprising. His results are in blue. Source- MrDeodorant

CM 690 top mount rad mod
The temperatures were my fault; I had neglected to take the plastic protector off the CPU block. After taking it off, I get 29 degree idles and 43 degree loads at 4.05 GHz, with medium-speed Scythe S-Flex fans. I could use faster fans to get even lower temps, but I like the quiet.- MrDeodorant

I believe you mean 'germane'. Between a 295 and a 5870, if you can actually get a 5870, it is the superior choice. Update: I've clocked it to 4.2 GHz, at 1.35 volts and about 45 degrees under ORTHOS. I have to bump the voltage for stability, but the temperature is low and Windows started smoothly, so I should be able to push it a little further without breaking 1.4.- MrDeodorant

Distilled water, a bit of Water Wetter, Iodine, and some Danger Den UV-Clear Blue dye. The dye, by the way, is now liberally coating every component in my loop with a thin particulate. I wonder why it isn't in stock at NCIX any more?- MrDeodorant

Water cooling the P5Q northbridge
I have a P5Q Pro. My current water cooled setup doesn't direct a lot of air over my northbridge, and it gets pretty hot. I've been thinking about buying a Swiftech MCW-30 chipset cooler, but I'm leery about removing my stock cooler, because I'm not sure how critical the mosfets under the heat...- MrDeodorant

At the front of the radiator, by the barbs, we should have cut and folded it at an angle, so that it would meet the radiator flushly. Help for Asus P5Q installation
We might have solved it by holding the power down for 6 seconds several times. It did the error again, but the same fix dealt with it (I'm reluctant to say it solved it, since the problem came back). Anyway, Windows is installing, so I'll let everyone know how it went with a buildlog later...- MrDeodorant

Well then. I guess I have some thinking to do about the 2343 vs the 2443. Somehow, Future Shop never told me they price matched. Edit: I am now the proud owner of a 2443.
