2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs

I really wish so many Canadian teams hadn't played each other. I would have loved to see more Canadians move to the second round. Now I have to choose between Calgary (They'll never get through Anaheim) and Montreal. I think I might root for New York. Coach V definitely deserves a cup.

The referee's have been (more then previously) horrendous. I actually stopped watching Hockey after the last lock out, tried to get back in to it, and stopped because the judication is beyond bad. It is inconsistent at best during a game, and the punishments doled out are even more inconsistent then the penalties.

Add on to that 'Playoff Ref'ing' that everyone talks about being a thing (why do we have two standards of rules enforcement?) and you end up scratching your head wondering if Bettman has an agenda on who should actually win the cup...

It's unfortunate when human error has such a significant influence on the result.

The Pageau goal obviously should have counted.

Moments before the Gallagher goal, the puck was played with a high stick by a Montreal player.

So we had two bad calls against us. We had 4 very tight games we lost, 3 (if you ignore Game 6) of which we could have won. Maybe if this was game 7 and the games we won or lost were larger goal differentials, but we all need to remember 5 out of 6 games were determined by 1 goal or less (I'm excluding the empty net goal of Game 6). Two of them went to overtime.

In the end it could have easily gone 4-1 or 4-2 series wins for the Sens. I can hope they take this as a learning experience and come out strong in the fall, instead of sprinting to the playoffs. Have to remember that had to take a lot out of some of the guys too.

Ultimately the better team won the series, but that's one of those 50.1% vs 49.9% split type deals.

Finally a series goes the way I wanted. Go Lightning.

And now on to Round 2.

Go Tampa
Go New York
Go Minnesota
Go Calgary

Well that was a disgusting call on behalf of Toronto. I mean it was pretty damn obvious to everyone in Calgary and at home that the puck crossed the line. Sometimes I really do wonder if they try their best to not let Canadian teams win, I mean it does mean less money for the league compared to when the US teams win.

And strike that comment from the records.

Excellent come back Calgary!!!
