I have the following systems I'm trying to price for local sale. I'm not sure what boxes or accessories I have for either of them as I have to dig through the garage. But the safest bet is to assume I have nothing to go with them.

System 1:

Fractal Meshify Nano (mATX)
650W Corsair PSU (New)
B450 Aorus M MB
5700X (New)
Thermalright Assassin X (New)
32GB Corsair 3200 CL16 (4x8GB)
2TB Crucial m.2 Gen4

The above system only lacks a GPU. I will likely add an old NVS 450 so it has functional video out, but there's no value in that.

System 2:

Fractal Define ATX (Not sure which one exactly, but no glass and in perfect condition)
750W Corsair PSU
Gigabyte B550m MB
5900x
Thermalright Peerless Assassin
64GB Corsair 3200 CL16 (4x16GB)
2TB Team Group m.2 PCIe 3.0 x4
Quadro M2000

I have zero interest in parting these systems out. I'm just trying to determine if it's worth moving them, or repurposing them.

Hard to say because of silly RAM pricing these days. But let's start with a 7700X + B650-A mATX + Corsair RGB 32 GB kit at $850 (god that used to be 7800X3D combo pricing). Add a case, cooling, 2TB NVME, that would push it up to $1400? A 9800X3D with Strix X870-A and 32GB Corsair is $1560.

So If you price the 5700X combo at like $1100 and highlight the fact that RAM and NVME prices are nuts, it's not too unfair I think. For the 5900X, I would price it closer to $1400? Both are dead-end systems but not so bad that it's like paying for a 9th gen Intel. I would highlight that both systems can still game with a decent GPU and it comes with a lot of RAM and storage. I paid like $200+ for a Crucial T705 2TB during Black Friday.

That's a bit higher than I was thinking, although confirms I'm not way out to lunch I guess.

System 1, I was thinking around $950

System 2, I'm at about $1300

It was really a stab in the dark to be honest. If you take out the RAM and NVME drives and then price it as new minus 25% then you could start from there.

I think the MemEx daily deal yesterday was a 5700x + MB for like $360 or something like that? As mentioned the current market on ram makes it difficult to really give an accurate idea of cost for a system now.

A friend just bought a laptop and they shipped him the 64GB model at now extra charge since the 32GB models were out of stock... which surprised me greatly with what is going on.

I suppose if the 64GB unit was in stock (and thus bought at a lower price), it is financially beneficial to not build a new 32GB unit at inflated cost?

Basically the exact issue I'm struggling with
If you were to ignore the current RAM pricing, and instead look at what you paid, that might be a more fair estimate at least? Though I realize somebody may just pick it up for the RAM alone to re-sell...

As it stands, I don't think pre-built have quite been impacted yet price-wise. I wonder if they'll still remain closer as they have more direct agreements with suppliers? Similar to what we saw during the GPU shortages.

For $699 - https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/produc...-14400-16gb-ram-512gb-ssd-windows-11/19187632 - i5 14400 is comparable to the 5700X
For $1199 - https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/produc...i7-14700-32gb-ram-1tb-ssd-windows-11/19339623 - i7 14700 is comparable to the 5900X

Only difference being whatever you want to account for extra RAM + NVMe size. I don't think I'd consider a decade old Quadro M2000 worth much, unless the buyer also plans to use it for transcoding.

Those are actually pretty solid comparables. Appreciate it.

The M2000 is basically just for video output. In both cases, they're mostly workstations as they stand, unless someone decides to put GPU's in them.
