@Coach hows your system running now? I need someone to talk me down from trading my 3600 for a 5600x, the video reviews show marginal improvements in games, 10-20% at 1080p with a rtx3080. After this many months are there improvements that make the upgrade more attractive?

If that's all you're doing? No.

As an end of life socket upgrade? Depending on how long you keep platforms for that answer could swing either way.

Depends on the cost involved I suppose, I would try to step up to a 5800X if you can. At least it's a more tangible "upgrade" and gives you an extra 2 cores for "future" use, assuming you plan to ride AM4 for a few years to come.

I sold my 5600x and went back to my 3600. There were no performance gains to be had in the games I play at 1440P with a GTX 1080
