I don't use any of those 'suggestions' the AMD software makes or the tweaking functions. I prefer to brute force my way past 60 fps and keep the resolution native at 1440p, the image quality loss from frame generation isn't worth it to me. Maybe someday when I need more than 60fps I will look into it, but can the human eye even see more than that?
Yes I hope this ignites a sh!tstorm. 😈
Not from me it won't! You do you man! ;)

Seriously though, I've seen some games where the settings make the visuals look worse, and I could easily notice, and others where the visual difference was very small or indistinguishable to me but the frame bump was significant. So I have now adopted the "try the tech and see" posture for each game and pick what's best for me.

Perhaps those newer AMD techs are implemented better on the 7000 series GPUs than I saw on my 6800 XT? Not sure.

Honestly I do have friends with high refresh screens who have reminded me a few times the difference was easy to see when they made the jump.
Something else that apparently helps framerates a lot is an app called Lossless Gaming, it's on steam, and I guess it works wonders with frame generation with little loss of quality.

I'm happy if I can keep consistently over 60 FPS. I don't need 144 FPS that my monitor can do for the games I play, but I can definitely notice playing at lower than 60, and if I am above 60 and then dip for a period below 60 I can see that. The 7900 XT does a good job in everything I've tried so far at keeping me above 60 at 4K, either with or without the other tech, depending on the game of course.

Hadn't heard of Lossless Gaming, or maybe it's Lossless Scaling? Found the latter on Steam. Interesting.
