Im planning on getting a 7600x combo from my local microcenter, but unfortunately (or fortunately), the new AMD CPUs no longer come with a cooler. Im looking for any recommendations for the cheapest but sufficient cooler that can take on the Ryzen 7600x.

I'm fine with purchasing anywhere,
Thanks in advance

AMDs Boxed coolers were a bit better than intels design that get like it was 20 years old.

7600x is only 105W TDP lower than the 7800x and such. Often not a lot of heat sink performance is done on the lower skus but I'd just take one from a 7800x review and call it good.

Cheapest but sufficient isn't a great way to find coolers though. You can shove a use delta fan on a $20 heatsink and it will be cheap and sufficient but the noise will drive you bonkers.

That said I think the Phantom Spirit and Peerless Assasin are the cheapest ones I see thrown around the most.

obviously you're right. i meant cheapest in regards to what is considered sufficient for the AM5 chips.

Looking on Amazon, i found this Thermalright Assassin for just under $20. I don't know about these days, but thats pretty cheap for a adequate cooler. If that one is no good, would the dual 120x version be better?

Or this ID- Cooling?

Amazon thermalright coolers 100% if budget is the priority.

As @Izerous said, phantom spirit (PS120) would be my first choice (PS120SE ARGB is on my 7600X and my son's 7600). If you have to go cheaper, they have a slew of single towers as well that would also be perfectly fine, but wouldn't run quite as cool/quite.

I see you replied as I did. If you really need to keep cost down, that single tower you shared should be perfectly fine. It will be way better than anyone using a boxed cooler. But if you are ok spending the extra, the dual towers will run a bit cooler/quieter

If you just want the cheapest that is good enough, something like this is as cheap as I see and would recommend ($16.99):

Ok, great, thank you. I'll have to think about it

Those cpus run pretty cool the factory one that comes with them are good enough but the Thermalright peerless assassin 120
is a great cooler myself when I bought my 7600 I didn't get the x the reason why was because the only thing I noticed on paper was that the 7600x use more juice which would mean they run hotter and I still can OC it so I bought the non x then right after I did that the 7800x3d went on sale so I bought that but thats a different story but I used that cooler on my 7600x3d and it works great and I will say this the 7800x3d runs hot normal but that cooler handles it good been using it since the summer of 2023

I just switched to a Phantom Spirit Evo. Bit more expensive than the basic Phantom Spirit but I am very pleased with it and I really liked the design.

So another vote for Thermalright from me.

I believe if you search on the Hardware Canucks YouTube channel they did one or more really good videos on budget CPU coolers for various platforms. I can't search at the moment, otherwise I'd like it for you, but shouldn't be hard to find.
