not just power efficiency power thermal efficiency they also add more heat to the hot side than they removed from the cold side. So if your generating like 800W of heat the hot side of the TEC is going to be pumping out even more heat than that making it even harder to cool in a lot of cases.I loved TECs! Think they were ahead of their time and eould be happy of they made a comeback. Yes they used power but it really wasn't that bad as far as I remember. I had four of them in an old multi-cpu setup ages ago.
