I think I'm done learning/playing. Got mitered edges looking pretty damn decent w/ the track saw. Had some issues w/ the anti-tip causing binding. But threw some wheel grease on it and its working great now.

@SugarJ man the dust collection on the 4100XC is hot garbage. I never used it indoors before so didn't worry about it. The track saw gets about 90% dust collection 10% loss. Table saw gets maybe 10% collection and 90% loss.

Maybe a year or two ago I was browsing YT and found someone who isolated the dust extractor to the blade area and now I can see why. Can't seem to find the video now tho. I remember it was the European version of the saw but still can't find it. I am definitely interested in doing the mod now.

why not install a massive kitchen stove blower above it and vent the refuse into the neighbors lawn and accidentally toss a box of lit matches and watch the fireworks?

What are you using for dust collection? My Dewalt shop vac does pretty well when it's plugged into the saw, not nearly what you're seeing. I'd say it gets at least 80% of the dust compared to when I cut with no collection. I also usually cut with just the riving knife in, not the guard assembly as most of my cuts are plywood. The guard assembly may have a negative affect on dust collection?

6.5HP 16G Rigid Professional vac + dust cyclone + cen-tec hose. Even cutting dados where all the dust should be going into table saw Z most piles up below saw or by by the knob where you set blade height / angle.

I guess should be pretty easy to 3d print a cover to be over the blade adjustment slot. Make one for 45 and one for 0. Then maybe I can just add a 1/8" board to cover up the bottom of the saw.

With the track saw there is almost no dust.

Well shop vac died. Bought it used a year or so while ago but rarely used it. TBH thought it was going to die due to its smell when it was on. Expect the previous owner didn't clean the filter regularly.

Have a much smaller 4HP Stanley that I'll try. It did do a good job @ grinding concrete. So maybe it will do ok. If not I'll probably grab this Makita. Although I'd rather not spend money I don't have too. Still have a whole lot of wood n stuff to buy.

EDIT: Remembered how trash tier the bags are for this vac. Paper and they always tear if I have to ever open the vac to clean the filter, which w/ concrete was every 10 minutes.

So it was probably the vac dying that gave rise to the lack of dust collection? The pictures look like my saw did when I made cuts without a shop vac attached.

Still haven't tried my old vac w/ the table saw. But it still had massive suction. I guess we'll see.

Picked up another router today. I have an older Craftman in a shitty router table. But this has a plunge attachment (w/ dust extraction) and able to raise it w/ a hex key when used on a table. $75.

My tool search is nearly complete. I have enough tools to to be a general contractor at this point. I think the only thing I'd still like is a planer. But that is far off as most of the furniture I want to build will use plywood.
