yes the fitness thing is hard you dont seem to see or notice change also the recovery time can take much longer, in my 20s to say mid 30s wasn't to bad I could go for a long run or heavy workout well except for my back issues and such, I could recover in a day so like the old standard work out you work a certain group next day work a different group while the group you worked the day before recovered you do this every other day maybe take a full day off the third day. When you hit 40 + you really cant do this or at least you need to build up to be able to do the , the workout one day rest doesn't do that sometimes you workout and recover two day, then after a few months of doing this you don't notice and visual improvements ,your gut is still there the flab here and there is til there ,but you may feel stronger , you are stronger but the visual is the same . Myself I have man boobs and flab around my belly and I eat correctly I don't eat allot ,my calorie intake is where it should be for what I do but yet when you hit late 30s early 40s the flab starts to appear , I never really had flab until reached that age the it slowly appeared over time , I was always pretty active and eat properly since the late 1970s , I swear that it is some type of growth hormones in meat or maybe growth hormone in the hydroponically grown food lol I think for myself the only real difference is myu sleep is much less average 5 hours of broken sleep every night over the last 10 years
