heya all this might be a derp question but im wondering the air flow direction of this Gigabyte RTX 4080 Super not sure why im confused by this dont all AIBS dump the air into the case where as founders cards have a intake/exhaust front/back least with the 3000 series? trying to orient the bottom fans of a build and dont want to push air into it if the card is just dumping air lol would result in poor thermals.

I would anticipate most of the hot air coming out of the edge of the card and a bit through the backplate since I see the 3rd fan is mostly blowing through.

Phew ok so when I looked at box I kinda figured that then my Noctuas pushing air up should actually be helping instead of impeding the airflow man it's been a hot minute since I used anything but Founder's Cards.

If I'm looking at the diagrams correctly, both the 30 and 40 series FE cards have 1 fan at the bracket end that's pressing the air against the PCB which force the hot air out the back. The other fan just flows the cool air thru the fins and heatpipes and then out the other side and into the case. Most of the AIB is what JD showed in his post where the hot air comes out the side. There are a few blower type designs but don't appear to be common in store.

The manu website shows airflow through the square(ish) rear fin "port", so there's most certainly some (if not all) airflow into the case.

Was hoping it didn't push air down from under the card I seen the airflow chart from the box but it looks like it pulled air from under th cars through it.

yeah case i have is a Der8auer O11 with 3 slim noctua intakes and a 360 arctic freezer II and a 80mm Noctua at back exhausting though i think ill change case out for the CM Master Box 600 when it gets released. wish mesh side panels/vented were a option for cases.

I'm assuming this is with a standard horizontal GPU mount?

My assumption when I did my latest build in the Hyte Y70 (vertical mount) was that the bottom fans would not only force air up through the fins, but would also provide fresh air for the GPU's fans. I counted on the top & rear fans to remove the hot air dumped into the case.

You can use a candle or a lighter flame it will show air flow . Careful around plastic not to burn them . :)
