AM5 7950x build

Everything is up and running. I won't be overclocking this system so 850W should be ok, but I guess we'll see. GPU doesn't draw much over 350W with my settings, and the CPU has yet to hit 200W and I can limit that if need be. I figure I'll have to get a new psu eventually if I upgrade to a 4090.

I haven't done much testing beyond the basics to make sure everything is working properly. NH-D15S looks to be cooling the 7950x pretty well even with only one fan on it (I have more fans around that fit so I'll try with two).

100% guys ...my Evga 3080Ti FTW3 Ultra "blowing up" after only 2 months of "light use" left a pretty sour taste in my mouth ....especially after spending around $1700 + Tax for a brand new Card only to have to turn around and shell out $50 to send it back to Brea, Cal and have then ship me a "used refurb" Card in a generic box w no accessories.

As said when I returned a defective RIVE Board to Asus Canada I received a bnib motherboard, not a refurb and iirc they also sent me a pre-paid RMA Shipping label......most of the Evga fanboys cant seem to wrap there lips around this concept ;)

There were so many failed 30xx series FTW3 Cards that suffered the same "Red Light of Death" problems that I had already decided Asus would be my go to.....

Yeah that sucks when you spend that kind of Money. EVGA was my goto for a long time, and then slowly I swapped to PNY which is a partner not many people talk about, but I've had great results with them.
I did have that Problem with ASUS , but it was YEARS ago. I had a almost perfect condition monitor fail after 6 months (it looked like it suddenly had scanning lines on it) and sent it in.
The monitor I got back was a refurb that had *Food* on the screen. Like chunks of dried food.

I lost my mind on them. And had someone years ago whom could get me a Manager and bypass the regular process. The sent me a Brand new one and told me to keep the refurb too for the trouble.

Beyond that though, ASUS has done me good.
I've always had good results using their BIOS, BIOS Update Tool and boards.

Thats what I definitely like is the Motherboard support (well its the only Asus product I have currently in my build :0 )......BUT the BIOS support whether "Official Release" or "Unofficial" thru Shamino as well as the "Official Driver support" or the unofficial thru Machku is always their.

Jump on the forum with a problem and generally have it sorted fairly quickly....or find out it cannot be sorted again fairly quickly.

For the OP....850w may certainly get you by, its the transient power spikes that would concern me with that Card (and I OC)...then again I have always been a bit of psu junkie / OCD / nut-bar, perhaps its a little residual mind fvck from my multi GPU days ;) ....I mean you really have to be a geek to surf psu's right ;)

I have heard that windows runs really smooth on the 7xxx cpus. What's your take?
