der8auer has released his 3rd part on the scanning electron microscopic look at the transistor size difference between the AMD fabrication and Intel fabrication. Very cool for those interested in the silicon level information.

interesting. You can see that TMSC's 7nm is smaller than Intel's 14, but it's not as huge of a difference as you would expected based solely on the advertised nodes. If I remember correctly I believe I recall reading that intel's 14 is close to something like a TMSC hypothetical 10nm.

Yeah basically is the TLDR is you cannot compare nodes between companies, however it is useful information from within a company.

The process nodes for fab companies are about as useless as TDP and contrast ratios.
