So AMD released another AM4 CPU. This time it's R5-5500X3D for Latin America market only. It's basically a slower 5600X3D.

I'm surprise that AM4 CPU haven't EOL yet since we are about to get into Zen6 which should be the last CPU on AM5. Zen7 is announced and coming out for Epyc first. While it may sound like a slap in the face, AMD probably looked at the data and income level and thought people in LATAM region wouldn't move up to AM5. Another factor is that most other markets probably already moved up to AM5. If you got silicon that's still good, may as well sell them. As one commenter said, they would love to update their old spare machine with the new CPU.

GN got their hands on one and posted a review. TL;DR, not worth it for us because he paid $250 USD for the CPU. In gaming, it beat most of the non-X3D parts including a 5700X. Productivity wise, an Intel 12600K would beat it and on par with a 3700X. I guess if the user is coming from a R5-2600 it may make sense for them depending on the market.

HUB finally got their hands on one. A bit more interesting to me because I'm rocking an old 5800X but still can't justify buying this thing. I seriously hope they will respin the 5800X3D.
