HWC just released their review of the Ryzen AI Max using Zen 5. Since it's a laptop based CPU, I decided to start a thread here instead of the CPU sub thread. Hopefully, there will be boards using these CPU as well.
Until AMD comes out with equivalent to Unified Memory, Apple will still be a lead in the space. Only reason I have a macbook pro m2 with 64GB of RAM is for unified memory so I can run LLMs locally and on the go.
From the video, it looks like you can allocate more memory to the GPU part in BIOS. I'm running Ollama locally and playing with LLM while looking for work and my 3060Ti w/ 8GB VRAM is a limiting factor. While it's annoying to adjust manually between LLM and gaming (crash above 8GB), it's not unusable.
