Parts look good, although I might personally change ram. What are you using for cpu & gpu cooling? There are many people here who are more knowledgeable than myself.

All the parts look very similar to mine! That must mean that I like it. :thumb: If you have the time and you are set on the Antec case I would highly recommend that you mod it by making a hole near the bottom in the MB tray to allow you to pass the PSU cables through, and one hole near the top above the 2 holes that are already there, and use it to run to the 12 VDC CPU at the top of the MB. You will need an 8 pin extender to get there if you route the cables behind the tray.

Here are some links to the case mods embedded in this thread... as well as my own worklog from my modding the Antec 900.

http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/cases/10075-help-anyone-have-any-cable-mangement-tips.html

If you are not to keen on modding, then the Coolermaster CM 690 is an awesome case, but buy a couple of extra fans, at least one 120 or 140 to exhaust out the top.

I would look at maybe upgrading the memory to PC8500. You will find many supporters of Mushkin RAM here due to the excellent support.

Welcome to the forums PPCLI. Are you with 1, 2 or 3?

Your build looks good. I also second the CM690, I have one and it is awesome for room, airflow and cable management.

I did a worklog when I moved my wife's computer parts out of an old Antec case into the Coolermaster CM 690. If you look at my worklogs you'll see the differences in the cases. Also, some talented folks offered up some good advice, which I took, so they are both fairly clean inside!

The Antec PSU is a modular, so there are less cables to have to sort out, but the Corsair in the Antec just has skads of cable to hide!

Looks good PPCLI. BTW Love your nick. I spent 2 months on the Calgary base back in '89 helping my pregnant sister while my brother in-law was serving in Cyprus. I still have all the gear they were selling to celebrate thier 75th and man can you pats party!...But I digress :haha:

Nice build list there but on a quick scan I figure you can save an additional $120 so don't forget to pricematch. I used PriceCanada.com: Search. Compare. Buy. - Canadian Online Shopping Search and Comparison! you'll find a link also here on HWC for it and I use that ussually thinking maybe HWC gets a few cents for the click-through :bananafunky:also recheck prices at Compare prices - Canada - Price Comparison - Comparison Shopping as I've noticed NCIX sometimes gives them special promo prices and they update faster that pricecanada.

You might want to hold off until after this weekend to pull the pin. Gav's suggested that we might see a new HWC sale today.... :)

Other than that, everything looks pretty good, although I'm of the same mind as those who've suggested you look at bumping up the memory to PC2 8500 (or at the very least PC2 8000). If you plan on overclocking, keep in mind that the lowest FSB for an E8400 @ 4G is 445, thus even a 1:1 is going to push PC2 6400 well outside of its rated specs. (1:1 is the lowest you can go, so that would be DDR2 890).
