Any end in sight for high RAM prices?

I'm contemplating upgrading from my X2 4400+ to an overclocked Conroe system but these inflated prices are are deal breaker right now.

Are we going to see any DDR2-667/DDR2-800 2GB kits come down to the $200 region anytime soon... I'd really like to jump aboard the Intel bandwagon! :p

Best thing to do is probably pick up some used RAM. Considering most RAM comes with a lifetime warranty, there's almost no reason to buy it new unless it's bleeding edge and no one is unloading it. By this time DDR2 has been through a couple refreshes though. That's what I'd look into doing anyway.

I see that many visitors are still viewing that thread- so just to update: as of now, RAM prices are great! they will be increasing in the next quarter so if you're thinking about it- now is a pretty good time to upgrade your memory.

I had actually heard that it was on its way back up due to the manufacturers anticipated an increased demand for flash products for the spring/summer...

There is something that has been bugging me. Why can you buy a 2gb flash drive for $25 and have to pay 10x as much for dram ?
According to an article I just read, flash memory is supposed to be more expensive than dram.

Unlike DRAM, non-volatile memory like flash can store memory when a device's power is turned off, but flash memory chips write and read data more slowly than DRAM, have less capacity, and are also more expensive.
