Keyboard trays are the core of evil. Either desk it too low and you smash into the tray or the desk is too high making the tray the right height but the better solution is fixing the desk height so it isn't neccessary.

I agree. Another option is your chair isn’t well suited to your desk IMO.

yeh, I'm gonna be putting my desk on some 4x4 blocks. that should boost it enough to use a tray. if i need more, then I'll screw a chunk of 2x4 for another couple inches.

@SugarJ because I view Amazon reviews with extreme prejudice. :poop:

edit - I should add the reason I'm looking at this is our rescue keeps wanting to sit in front of me and when he does that I can't type...so, get a tray and he gets to sit in front of me...win-win! :)

I see all the comments about the evil of tray... all true :) I have my desk and chair height set ergonomically and matched for normal use.

However! There is a use case that this may be perfect for. When playing a sim like Star Citizen that has both flight controls and FPS elements, with my sticks mounted on desk mounts, and the chair far enough back to be in a comfortable ergonomic position for those and pedals, the keyboard and mouse are now to far away to be ergonomic for keyboard commands in flight, and especially for FPS. Something like this that can be out of the way when not in use for that, or even removed when not in use since it's not permanently attached, might be just perfect for that.

Hmmm... I must do some measuring and pondering. Thanks @Marzipan !

Oh and I just read the cat dilemma! I have that too :D

Haha. Our current cats don’t do that, but our previous cat did. Always funny.

You do know that the cat will just want to sit on the keyboard tray right?

As for me, I just have my kitty sit/lay on one arm (in front of keyboard), then I still have one arm free-ish to use mouse and type, albeit slowly.
