are WiFi remotes a thing yet?

I think I did a bad job of describing what I'm after.

as for switching device inputs...listening to music and then a phone call comes in, press of a button connects me to the device with the incoming call.
Dual input headphones do this already. My Soundcore earphones can connect to PC and phone at the same time. If a call comes in they automatically switch to my phone.

On the fly switchable Bluetooth is also a feature of BT keyboards these days (the RK84 allows for 3 different BT connections which are selectable via fn+key selections) so it's not a stretch that it could be incorporated into a BT remote and connect to different BT enabled devices.

Bluetooth headphones like my Bose QC45s will automatically pause music in favor of calls when it's BT is connected to my phone. The only issue is your "mixing" needs. I don't know of any software on a phone that can output a mix of multiple stereo sources at the same time. Windows can do it, but that would require a windows-based device in your pocket if you wanted to change the mix on the fly.

I was just going based on the sources you listed, there didn't seem to be any reason to need multiple devices? At most it sounded like you'd just need your personal & work phone connected, and carry whichever one you want with you to consume media from. They sell arm bands and such to hold your phone if you are walking around naked too ;)

The only audio source I can think of that would fall outside of working on a phone would be a record player, but generally you'd have that for the "warmness" of the audio and wouldn't be using BT to listen to it anyways.

Side note: Teams is really good at letting you use a phone and a PC simultaneously. You can join both devices to any call/meeting. Good if you want the audio running through your phone, and use your laptop for displaying the meeting contents.

WiFi music streaming is gaining steam / popularity due to Bluetooth's range and bandwidth limitations and running a couple of 'wish there were products with this' thoughts through my head made me compose this question.

so many devices you control with IR / Bt remotes are now networked connected that having universal WiFi remotes to control them anywhere in the home, not just by line of sight or within 10ft has great use prospects that I hope it'll become a thing sooner rather than later if it isn't already.
Sonos has some very expensive options heh.

Nah man, it integrates with whole house audio on a completely different level than bose.
I meant sound quality wise. there are a number of brands with similar solutions for what Sonos provides, but they don't advertise so you have to be in the know or know people in the know to find out who they are. ;)

Ah ok, well, I've listened to lots of soundbars in different places around big white and the sonos is pretty decent compared to most imo.
