I don't think I've ever heard of it. Wow... how'd I miss all those? Was it only console before?

And what are the mechs? Are they robots or are there people piloting like in other mech games? Trailer is cool.

Sony exclusive

I played a lot of 3-5 as well the Vita enabled one wasn't great.

I think it was 4 I came up with a build that absolutely dominated online PVP. I think most of my matches were lasting <45 seconds on average.
Actually quite excited that I don't need to go out and buy a PS5 to play it (if it was a PS exclusive again i likely would).

If found in ...4, maybe 'Last Raven' that if I went with a machine gun build it was absolutely ridiculous how quickly I was chopping down mechs.

The one change I hope for is better melee weapons. The auto-dash heat sabers or whatever they were did great damage but the mandatory forward dash with them made them very clumsy to use. I'm not expecting 'gundam-esque' beam saber fights, but something less clunky would be great.

Machine guns were a good one for against AI but I found against actual players that went for agile builds (spamming sidestrafe all over the place etc) that it was quite hard to hit them with about any direct fire item. There were large nukes with massive splash damaged and 2 hits even the most armored opponent would die in two hit and the agile builds only had to hit them with the splash and the AOE on them was huge. Then backed up by light machine guns to poke at the last opponent (if it started as 2v2). Machines guns with a 2v1 scenario made for quick work since it is harder to evade 2 people by your self easily.

Like Izerous mentioned, Sony only.

It played kind of halfway between a Mechwarrior and gundam game. It leaned more towards the 'Sim' side with various frames, builds, heat/weight management, but more jump-jet use and faster gameplay than Mechwarrior. While it was faster it still felt very much like heavy mech combat compared to your average Gundam or Another Century game which leaned more towards fast action games. In the later entries you'd also fight mega-bosses that were giant mobile platforms.

I honestly prefer AC over Mechwarrior by quite a large margin. Like Mechwarrior you could really dive into min/max-ing builds, but AC you could also 'pick up and play' a lot more over MW. With a PC release I really hope there's decent mod support. Would be cool to see some custom mechs hosted on Nexus, and even a few ridiculous Macross/Gundam/Pacific Rim mechs for laughs once in a while.

As a Mech lover in General, I have loved the AC series as much as Mechwarrior. They both do mechs right, in different ways.

I remember buying a PS just to get my hands on this game, was really a lot of fun to play. I even wrote a short story in school about one way back in the day.
Nice to see it's coming back in a new form.
