Ok, I understand, when theres AM2 in the description it means it supports amd dual core!

Not exactly... some AM2 motherboards can accept tri and quad core (at reduced HT speeds), while there are some AM2 dual core CPUs that will either not boot (the new Athlon X2 7XXX) or barbeque (Athlon X2 6400+) low-end motherboards.

Anyway, I think it's better to check the CPU compatibility list rather than ask on the forums (always nice to have paperwork to back yourself up).
For the motherboard you posted, the support list is here GIGABYTE - Support&Download - Motherboard - CPU Support List

There is a CPU compatibility on ASUS's website, check there to be sure - some boards might require a BIOS update for supporting latest CPUs

Check here
ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-

Make sure you check the PCB / BIOS revisions to the right !
