yes...the mobo had to have something on it to work with the add-on board. no info on that in this article, so I really hope it's standalone.

It needs to connect to a mobo, but not exactly sure what both of them are (Asus page is missing a lot of details). Picture from them looks like USB3 internal header and something else...

Could be power? Looks like there might also be a (pcie?) molex on the back of the card.

Looks like a 6 Pin PCI-E (I guess it is needed with the PCI-e because TB has to provide power?). As well from reading it looks like throughput is split between the USB internal Headers and the PCI Bus.
Interesting niche product.

They also have the newest B550 ProART B550-Creator series that is coming with it Native (not an add on card).
