audio on the cheap

i was looking for a audio setup but i didnt want to break the bank... more or less 100$ and so i wanted to have an okay 5.1 setup for gaming watching videos and listening to music so i was looking at these two

for speakers

I have the [FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Logitech X-540 5.1 [/FONT]and they are good. Well at least good enough for me. The bass is weak though and the sound quality is not top notch but then again these are very cheap.

Those speakers are more then fine for the price. I would seriously suggest a better sound card. At least wait until you can spend a little more on a sound card or you will be disappointed.

well i think i'll get the zalmens that were recommended thanks i have onboard hd audio but want a soundcard to take a little load off my cpu is there a soundcard someone could recommend for under 50$?

The only type of soundcard that would take the load off the CPU is a gaming card with a DSP processor. Such as the X-fi series, Audigy 2, Audigy 4...etc
The cheapest and least card you should be looking at would be the X-Fi X-Gamer or possibly a Audigy 2. You can use ALchemy with the Audigy cards now. I would still suggest the X-Gamer though. If you cheap out on the soundcard too much you will end up with a card you just need to replace again...
