the article says the FX-9830P is 4c / 8t, but I'm only seeing info saying it's 4 cores, so not sure if that's a typo. this Bristol Ridge based APU comes with the R7 GPU, however it doesn't specify which variant (240, 250, etc) it is. CPU performance isn't stellar...but it beats the i3-7100U, so it should be enough for HTPC use, if the R7 is better than the UHD 630.

Don't think it's a typo. AMD got their asses handed to them in court over "cores" for that architecture line.


I'm surprise that this thing is still in production these days. Wouldn't any of the Ryzen APU have better power efficiency and performance?
they would...but not at the price these are likely selling at. a good way to clear out old, stale stock from the failure that FX was.
