Most years we've had a black friday thread IIRC, unless they always got captured in 'Hot Deals' and I'm mistaken.

Which makes me realize I've heard/seen very few promos for anything worthwhile on BF this year. I get not wanting a mad rush in retail stores, and that not having as many sales is a way to recoup lost income from earlier in the year, but it almost feels like there's nothing going on this year, particularly in tech.

Sales on what? Nothing is in stock :ROFLMAO:

I haven't seen any "amazing" deals by any means thus far, most "Black Friday" sales appear to have been cancelled and shifted into multi-day or week long events. I suppose there's been some alright prices on SSDs, but that's really all I've seen. I did pickup a Crucial P5 2TB this week too since it was an all-time-low.

On the consumer electronic side, TVs seem to be really cheap this year. But again, those sales started about a month ago for the most part.

Just ordered a 10 TB Red Plus drive for $250+tax from Memory Express. In Jan 2019, I paid $375+tax for the same drive. When I looked at prices a few weeks ago, when one of my 4TB Red died, they were a lot higher!!

I think overall, from the pandemic, factories being closed, trade wars, etc most stores aren't sitting on excess inventory so there's not much they need to "purge" before year end.

Even like appliances, I'm not seeing any real notable sales there. I was thinking I might replace my oven, but nothing is grabbing me as a "buy now" sale. Any sort of "outdoor living" product has sold out well before this "winter" season, so there's nothing left there either.
