Jay2cents configures a console killer at near the price of a Sony PS5 Pro . :)

Haven't watched the linked video yet, but with the original PS5/XSX you couldn't come close to building a similar performing PC for the $...hence why I got an XSX a couple years ago. I will have to check this out after work to see if things have changed with some parts coming down from their peaks and the pro costing quite a bit more.

Well, the PS5 Pro pricing is $699 USD, without the vertical stand (+$30 USD), and without an optical drive I believe (~$80 USD).

That might give you a bit more wiggle room for a PC build, but the GPU would be the biggest killer for the PC cost for sure. But I don't believe the PS5 Pro, although attempting to add improved graphics and frame gen/AI features, still isn't likely to be pushing more that 60 FPS?

(Note: I have also not watched the link video :) What GPU did he put in the build for those who've watched it?)

16gb 3200 ram
1tb nvme (ps5 pro is 2tb)
Cheap case
650w psu
3060ti for $100 more can hit same GPU as PS5 pro

Actually not a bad value

Ps5 pro doesn't come with bluray player... for a console not sure that is a step I'd skip

Yes, the Internet seems to be quite upset about the price in light of the things they've left out!

That 3060ti though... performance the same as PS5 Pro at 4K? Or is the PS5 Pro not advertising 4K?

There is a chart in the video. Ps5 and ps5 pro in no way are using 4k native. Using FRSS to hit 4k, so he did the same with 3060ti. And he can always toss in a newer card in a year. Ps5 is locked

And let's be honest DLSS out performs FRSS as it has had a whole generation headstart. Though I never use either. I happily hit 4k@60 with it off on the 7900xtx, and the 1080ti never supported it.

Thanks Izerous. I've been pondering a bit more 4K power for my setup, maybe replacing my 6800 XT with a 7900 XT... but that is topic for another thread :)

Having still not watched the video, I have issues with that setup. Its not like for like if you use garbage case vs PS5pro "nice" case, 1tb ssd vs PS5pro 2TB, and 3060Ti GPU vs ps5pro gpu (which current estimates say will be closer to a 7700XT (likely near a 3070Ti).

Not to say this cant be done, but that build just sounds like a budget gaming PC vs trying to get a PS5pro equivalent for as cheap as possible.
